this is a forum for jet boat owners. mostly Yamaha, since Yamaha builds most of the jet boats you see on the water now, plus Scarab, the old Sea-Doo Challengers and Speedsters that are still running, and the Chaparral Vortex people if any of you are left. WaveRunner owners are close enough to hang around, but the boards are about boats.

there are three boards. Jet boat talk is the water side, sandbars and rivers and anchoring and trips. Engines, pumps and impellers is everything under the hatch and behind the intake grate. Buying and auctions is where you post the price you paid and the yard or dealer the boat came out of.

one rule matters more than the rest. put the year, model, engines and hours in your first line. "my yamaha is slow" gets you nothing. "2018 242 Limited S, twin 1.8 HO, 260 hours, lost 5 mph since last summer" gets you an answer by dinner.

no selling boats in threads. dealer and shop people, mention it once in your first post, we have a couple of techs signed up and that is a good thing as long as everybody knows who is talking. sign ups go through email until the spam bots give up. andre, Austin, Lake Travis when it has water in it.

saying it per the rule: i am a tech at a dealer in Orlando. Sea-Doo all day long and the Yamaha boats that come in for warranty work. happy to help with pump and Rotax questions here. what i will not answer is "what will the dealer charge me," every shop is different and i do not want to be that person.

andre, can the hours thing be in bold somewhere? half of what we diagnose at work depends on it and people leave it out every time.

bolded on the about page. 40 some members over the weekend, mostly from a Yamaha owners group where somebody posted the link. welcome in. ask the dumb questions here before you ask them at the ramp with a line of trucks behind you.
